Cancellation Policy

Our Cancellation Policy is written in plain English and is designed to be fair to both the parties involved, yourself (the trainee) and ourselves (the trainers).

If you have any doubt as to the meaning or understanding of them, or you feel they are unfair, please contact Sharmas Driving School (SDS) prior to any training course or Driving Lesson. It is your responsibility to ensure that you fully understand them and any financial or other implication they may hold for you.

Non-Attendance

  • If a lesson is cancelled by the participant for any reason within 4 hours of the start time of the lesson, the participant will be charged a full cancellation fee, which is the cost of the lesson.
  • Non-attendance of a lesson will be treated as a cancellation.

Cancellations

  • Cancellation fees charged are equal to the amount of the lesson value as single or part of a lesson package already purchased which includes driving tests.
  • Minimum 4 hour’s prior notice is required. We operate 24/7, including Public holidays. Our time is precious and we do charge for a late cancellation and for non-attendance. The fee is equal to the time that has been booked for the amount we would have been paid.
  • A full lesson fee is charged for any lessons cancelled with less than 4 hour’s notice as we are usually unable to fill the booking space we have reserved for you at short notice.
  • A driving test fee is charged for any driving test cancelled with less than 12 hour’s notice as we are unable to fill the booking space we have reserved for you. Our time is precious. We generally book out 3.5 hours of our time for a driving test and cannot fill that space at a short notice.
  • We may be able to reschedule your lesson to an earlier or later time subject to availability of spaces.
  • In the event, we do fill your space at short notice, you will not be charged or have a lesson deducted.
  • We may also need to reschedule a lesson by giving a student or customer more than 4 hours notice or a lesson may be done by another instructor when required if your regular instructor cannot attend.
  • Our instructors work 7 days and it is possible that they may become sick, care for someone else or have mechanical problems with cars. Instructor will negotiate a new appointment with you. If a new appointment is not possible, they will arrange for another Instructor to take the class on the scheduled date and time. We do not like to cancel or reschedule a lesson but safety comes first.
  • The instructors will message a student if running late by more than 10 minutes. Please ensure you are ready when the instructor arrives.
  • Driving lessons may/could be cancelled at short notice due to adverse weather or road conditions. Your training will be rescheduled without any charge to you, and you will not be entitled to any compensation for travelling or otherwise.

Both parties should adhere to all of the above which forms an integral part of these terms and conditions.
